Welcome

The club has come to be widely respected in Irish cricketing circles, with local man John Caldwell having been recently inaugurated as the ICU’s chairman, while 2004 witnessed several notable anniversaries; 150 years of Ballymena Cricket Club, 50 years of the club at Eaton Park, 40 years of Senior League cricket. Presently, Ballymena is ranked seventh in terms of playing strength out of the thirty-eight clubs affiliated to the NCU; with the exception of the 1st XI, who regularly finish mid-table in Section II, all of the clubs’ Saturday sides are finishing as high, if not higher, in the leagues than they have ever done before and it is from this peak that Ballymena CC looks forward confidently to its future.

Satham caused a stir in 1984 when he brought with him, unannounced, Kiran More, a future Indian Test wicket-keeper, who would often have to play on the club’s 2nd XI!
