Ballmena RFC wins Gold Award
Ballymena RFC has just lifted the prestigious Gold Award in the Club Recognition Scheme, which was introduced by the Ulster Branch in 2006 to reward those clubs who have developed their structure to address those many challenges that lie ahead. There are three levels of award within the scheme - Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Eaton Park Club gained Bronze in 2006, and Silver the following year, and has now successfully achieved the Gold Award which is also accompanied by a Gold Plaque and a cheque for £4,000. These awards are intended to encourage clubs to meet the criteria set by most funding bodies such as the National Lottery and the N.I. Sports Council, and the Scheme is supported financially by a Government Grant administered by the Sports Council
