Rascals raise £1000 for Wooden Spoon
![]() |
Following completion of our 250 shuttle runs I am delighted to announce we have raised £1000 for Wooden Spoon. A surprise addition of hot chocolate provided by Janes Kitchen proved a welcome bonus on a chilly afternoon. Thank you Jane for popping in! Wooden Spoon were absolutely bowled over by the efforts of the Rascals and want everyone to know that you are making a difference for boys and girls less fortunate in Ulster. A credit to the section and club, WELL DONE THE RASCALS!!
Where do we meet
Generally on the 1st XV pitch, but on wet days we have to move elsewhere to avoid the pitch being cut up!
Fees for 2009/10 season
£35 per child.
What happens?
The main aim is to have fun, but to learn a little bit about the game of Rugby while doing so.
Training Times
We meet between 9:30 and 10:30am on a Saturday morning. A full list of the days we meet can be found here. Registration details will be issued soon.
Safety
Safety is a primary concern at Rascals' Rugby. Therefore there will be:
• No Tackling (Introduce 2-handed touch only);
• No Scrummage;
• No Line Out;
• No Rucking or Mauling;
• No differentiation between forwards and backs.
It is also advisable that all children wear a mouth guard for training.The IRFU have
called for a ban on boots with metal blades and Parents are asked to ensure that children have the proper boots.
